Rental Workbook News
It's been a busy year for us here at Excel Australia, and now we're
looking forward to the nice break over the holiday season.
We will of course be answering any queries and orders over the
period, though please be a little patient over the holiday as our
consultants will also be enjoying the break and will not be checking
messages quite so often.
It is our warmest wish that you have a safe and joyful time
with family and friends over the festive season, and a new year
filled with good health and prosperity.

Rental Workbook Questions and Answers
Have you seen our Online Video Tutorials? We have created a bank of information about the common processes such as recording Rental income and expenses.
Visit our support page where you can find links to the videos and the Rental Workbook User Guide.
Q. I am trying to put my properties into 2009, but the Rental Workbook won't let me?
A. Quite often, this happens when you need to complete the 2008 year and run through the Rollover process.
Firstly, make sure you have upgraded your Rental Workbook to version 8 as this version issued back in July 2008 contains all the 2009 tax year information. If you have lost the link, contact us and we will forward you the download instructions.
Make a back-up copy of
the Rental Workbook and then go Rental Workbook > Utilities >
Rollover. This process will remove all the relevant 2008 data
and empty the properties ready to accept the 2009 information.

Q. I have upgraded to Excel 2007 and can't find my Rental
Workbook menu anymore?
A. Microsoft has
cheekily moved all non-Microsoft menus to an area called Add-ins.
On your new ribbon choices, near the Help ribbon will be one called
Add-ins. The Rental Workbook menu will be there, along with
all the tools and services you currently use.

workbooks outside of the Rental Workbook, unless otherwise stated.
Entering formulas to work out Square Roots
-------------------------------
Finding the root of a number is the same as raising that number to
the power of 1 over that root.
Example: The square root of X is X^(1/2). [Use the
caret ^ for the 'power of' symbol]
The square root of A1 is: =A1^(1/2).
You can also use the built-in worksheet function SQRT: =SQRT(A1)
The cube root of x is X^(1/3).
The cube root of A1 is: =A1^(1/3).
You can also use the built-in worksheet function POWER:
=POWER(A1;1/3)
